Cancer Horoscope for week of March 3, 2005
"The average river requires a million years to move a grain of sand one hundred miles," says science writer James Trefil. The work you've been doing on yourself these past two years, Cancerian, must sometimes have seemed as maddeningly gradual. The good news is that you are now in the last few months of this slow-motion, long-term project. If you can sustain your focus, you'll finish up around your birthday, having created such a strong inner sense of sanctuary that you will forever after be able to feel at home in the world no matter where you are.
An "inner sense of sanctuary" is so far away that I don't know if I can endure the ride if it were to push its way through in the next three month. Perhaps this just means I'll feel at home in the world even if I pick up and move to Wyoming between now and then?
The Solar Key: A Qualified Driver.
The problem with abandoning reason is that, initially, doing so leaves no one in the driver's seat. In our rejection of the left-brain, uptight cosmology of our peers, many of us may start to act in an unconscious manner, oblivious to the needs of others and isolated from the impact we are having.
But there is a qualified driver you can empower to take you to a better place. You have an inner voice, an inner knowing, and it is instinct. This is the part of you that remains connected to the higher powers of the astral. No matter how far you have drifted, you can still come back! [sun in 11°-12° Pisces]
I can hear the astral now..."come back, fuckmuffin!"
Today is Holy Wells Day in the Celtic and Northern traditions. The is the feast day of Ceadda (CHA-thah), a Celtic god of holy wells and cold springs. Ceadda originated the practice of immersing himself to the neck in a holy well as a meditation. He is also a deity of life, health, and life-path wisdom. The Cran Bethadh (KRAN-buh-THOD, meaning Tree of Life) is therefore his symbol. If you're having a hard time figuring out what to do with your life, a sacrifice to Ceadda could be the turning point in your search. Holy Wells Day is a good day to clean a holy well or cold spring (or maybe the hot tub), and make an offering of flowers. This act carries special luck today - for the sacred spring and for the one who does the labor.
I think that means I'm scrubbing the tub tonight.
Just for fun, today is also the birthday of:
Jon Bon Jovi (1962) -- rock star
George Benson (1943) -- jazz guitarist
Lou Reed, a.k.a. Louis Firbank (1942) -- vocalist and guitarist
Dr. Seuss, a.k.a. Theodore Geisel (1904 - 1991) -- writer and illustrator of many strange tales for children (Like my personal favorite, One Fish, Two Fish, Red Fish, Blue Fish -Ed.)
