Not that my bum is tiny or anything. And not that I'm complaining about it.

First, let me say that I'm pleased to have gone to bed early in lovely flannel sheets with my hubby on New Year's Eve, after a pleasant interlude at [livejournal.com profile] fionnabhar and [livejournal.com profile] nodeal_57's place with yummy nachos, and slept so well that I only mildly recall hearing fireworks at what must have been midnight. El mundo bueno all around.

However. It's bumming me out that the activities we chose meant that we didn't go to the New Year's Eve party where we could have met and smooched and generally received petting from so many folks in a different social circle, some of whom I know only through LJ thus far.

Oh, well. There will be other parties. Besides, I was too lazy to shower on Saturday -- and I'm sure that would have seriously impeded the petting thing.

Speak up next time. We can do smooching and petting, as well as nachos. And personal hygiene be damned.

Also, as I mentioned to your lovely husband, you might have come over here for petting. Not that there was much petting here, mind you, but, had you come over, there might have been more. :)

at the party of which you speak... (I'm guessing) the petting was on a rather low scale... otterdancing, redbell27, hartsbane and I parked ourselves upon the couch of lounging and had a fantastic time mostly people watching and waiting for the petting to come to us. At some point I convinced iron_clad that the couch was really the place to be. He now agrees with our philosophy. :) Zerself proposed that next year we get there very early and bring football like cheering items... (foam fingers, banners and the like) and truely camp out on the couch so we may cheer the ensuing gathering on.

Happy New Year m'dear. While I thoroughly enjoyed the gathering... nachos and flannel sound awfully enticing as well. ::grin::

That sounds very like the strategy [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale and I adopted (informally and independently) at the 01/02 NY party at the Charlesworth Hostile... I remember it worked pretty darn well then, too.
