My Friday thus far.
Dec. 31st, 2004 08:49 amI'd better just go ahead and put this behind a cut tag now. Luckily, I slept well enough (and the sunshine is pleasant enough) that I find most of this at least mildly entertaining.
Princess !Kaboom is a morning person, no doubt about it. She may not always wake up early, but she's nearly always rarin' to go, trotting down the stairs and into our room fully dressed and wanting some breakfast. The last two mornings have started that way as well. Unfortunately, she also promptly had "farts that made her panties wet." Yes, the runs. Thankfully, it was real brief. Yay.
This morning, you'll be happy to hear that she didn't have the runs. Nope. Quite the opposite. She's got a tummy ache and is desperate to poop but can't. She says to me, "Mommy, I think I'm complicated." Yes, dear, yes you are. There are so many tears and so much misery. But the farting has begun and I tell myself that's a good sign.
In other news, the dogs experienced an unprecedented moment of teamwork. A bowl of Peanut Butter Bumpers was spilled and they worked together to clean it up for me. Sadly,
zylch, your blue shower curtain was savaged in the process. I have no idea how it got to the middle of the kitchen, but there was nothing I could do. I have disposed of the remains to spare you any additional emotional distress.
More updates later, as chaos and inclination permit.
::Update:: The loveseat is a goner. This morning,
zylch had the bad luck to find some dog puke on one of the loveseat cushions. Poor girl. I had her put it in the bathtub for me so I could clean it up later this morning. Well, no go. Sure, I've been able to get the actual puke off the fabric. But the odors released when the cushion got wet nearly knocked me off my feet. No way am I putting that thing back on the couch for people to sit on in my living room. It has crossed over. Too bad the trash guys have already picked up. If anybody has time today, please come over and help me move this horrid thing out of the house. Other adults will be home by 5 p.m., but getting it done earlier would be nice. No emergency. We'll also be in the market for some new or gently used living room furniture very soon.

Date: 2004-12-31 04:44 pm (UTC)If you get both a loveseat and a couch (or otherwise find yourselves not really needing the futon anymore) I'll buy it off you to take with me when I go. The next apartment probably won't have much, but dammit, it will have furniture of some sort!

Date: 2004-12-31 05:03 pm (UTC)Oh -- Hellenista News Flash: Princess Sticky just wandered into the house from the backyard, where the little ones have been playing for a few minutes. She's wearing a pendant. It's lovely. Has an owl and some Greek on it, I think. Princess !Kaboom says they found it outside and the "cloud lady" told them it was Princess Sticky's. I have not tried to take it from her.

Date: 2004-12-31 06:30 pm (UTC)Remember the night of iconoclasm and triboluminescence? One of the things that went out back was a replica of a 4th cen BCE Athenian drachma, obverse showing the head of Athena, reverse has an owl, a crescent moon, an olive branch, and the letters AThH. I thought it got swept up and pitched when I was cleaning up the quartz, but apparently not. It sure ain't mine anymore, so if the cloud lady says it's hers, it's hers.
