We started our annual UNIPEP activities this year on Sunday, when [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale went home with some yummy new jammies I received for Giftmas from Santa. These freshly washed, red footie pajamas featured pockets and a white teddy bear icon on the front. They fit her stunningly.

With war and destruction all around, many of us crave the comfort that only jammies can provide. Add in the elements of care and friendship that come with sharing jammies, and you've got something special going on. UNIPEP does not discriminate on any basis that we can think of right now. The spirit of the Pajama Exchange Program extends throughout the year, but tends to be expressed better during the colder months. Share the jammie love today!

* Please note that this program is not (yet) endorsed by the United Nations -- though we think they would approve of our grass-roots effort to promote peace, understanding and better sleep in the world.

Details, please. New? Gently used? For keeps, or just borrowing? Jammies only, or would anything close qualify?

I fear anything I exchange would leave my friends with cold ankles. Except for [livejournal.com profile] chaosdruid, who would have room for a whole 'nother person in there.

Wait, I said that as if it were a bad thing, didn't I? *facepalm*

It's the exchange that matters, not the jammies. They can be new or used, men's or women's, silly or dull, actual PJs or just happy pants.

Some other guidelines:
* They DO need to be comfy for at least napping if not sleeping. Soft fabrics...easy fit...you get the picture.
* There should be an exchange of sorts -- meaning, you cannot offer yours and then refuse to wear others. That's just rude.
* The length of the exchange is up to you.
* It's best if the exchange is made with somebody outside your own household.

That reminds me

I still have a t-shirt of your husband's and I still have [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale's pj's. One of these years I need to return them.

::trying to figure out if you're being sarcastic:: Yes, I have the pirate t-shirt and the soft moon and stars pants. And anyone trying to visualize this--yes, the pants have moons and stars on them and they're light blue and yellow. They are lovely, and look much better on [livejournal.com profile] featherynscale than me.
