Lingering Malaise

I'm still sad that Colin Powell resigned as Secretary of State. He's a genuinely decent fellow -- I interacted with him quite a bit when he was Commandant of Cadets at USMA. It's a terrible thing, when good people are so sickened with public life that they must leave the work to those who care less about service and more about having power over others.

Can't even begin to express how disturbing all these cabinet shifts are, even when a hispanic man and a black woman are being appointed to two of the most powerful offices in the country.

It's good he's gone, the rest of them made him look bad or stupid, sometimes both.

I like him too. I do think he has done the best he could, however, on the up side, Ashcroft is gone.
