I've passed the two-week mark and feel pretty good. Since the last update, I've managed to find a chiropractor who cracked all the right bones and got me going on a multi-vitamin formulated to do more than "simply prevent scurvy." We'll see how that goes.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] zylch, who kept the children alive while [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn and I went to check out the local YMCA. It looks nifty, and perhaps my freelancing will bring in enough that we won't have to cut any expenses to join up as a family. That would be a pretty spiffy anniversary/Christmas gift for each other.

It's exciting to feel the difference that these new habits are making, but I'm going to resist the temptation to add more right now.

Naturally, I write this as I eat a handful of Hershey's miniatures...after having forgotten to plan/provide my own lunch. But hey -- the Red Sox won the World Series! And now, I have to go pee.

It depends on your definition of expensive, and I'm sure rates vary a bit depending on the facility. The one nearest us charges $76/month for a family membership -- which includes many of the classes free of charge, as well as child care free of charge. Right now, there is no joining fee and no particular contract when you go the EFT route.

As for the World Series -- America won again! How do we keep doing that?

I understand that the YMCA rate is based on income, the "rich" subsidize the poor. I thought the rate down by the Entropic Trinity was $63/mo, but then it is in Missouri. I understand that when you have a membership, you are eligable to use other YMCAs, so I was wondering what the catch was... otherwise people might all go register as the cheapest YMCA and use the most expensive. Granted, I got my info from the YMCA KC main site... I haven't done my tour of Red Bridge yet.
