and counting. I am filled with porpoises purpose!

Things I've managed to do every day:
1. Drink 8 cups of actual water. (non-caffeinated, non-sweetened, etc.)
2. Avoid putting sugar in my coffee. (sugar still goes in tea, but it's only about half the amount I'd put in coffee)
3. Generally get to bed at a decent time. (now, if only the children would cooperate and let me string together a few consecutive hours of sleep)
4. Start the day with -- or take a break during the day for -- yoga. (primarily poses that emphasize complete breathing and internal balance)
5. Plan ahead for lunch and dinner.

I'm also doing a better job of paying attention to food. For example: instead of stopping at Steak & Shake for a double bacon cheeseburger and a shake on my way to ritual, I instead went to Whole Foods for some tuna, soup and a vitamin C drink. Sure, I had cherry pie for dessert.

No need for this experience to be, as [livejournal.com profile] zylch teased, "Forty days of, ah, crap!"

I'm not going to add any new habits this week, just work on solidifying the ones I've got. Forty days gives me time to cement these newer habits...and perhaps add one or two more, but nothing more than that. The idea is to exit this phase different in a way that I can sustain -- not binge on stuff I can't manage over the long term.

If I'm the vessel, I'd better plug those holes. Severity out.
