WTF, crafting world

On what planet is this craft a good idea?

Beaded baby spoons. Yes, let's all wrap little choking hazards around something that goes into a baby's MOUTH. :: headdesk ::

The beads are probably pretty secure, at least as long as someone else is feeding the baby and not letting the baby have long periods of unobserved time to dismantle the spoon. I'd be more concerned about the wire. People who are not all that experienced with wire-wrapping will often leave a sharp end sticking out somewhere, or just tuck the sharp end in somewhere thinking that it will not later pop out when you move the thing just right. (Hell, I do that sometimes, and I've wrapped a few wires in my time.) I wouldn't want a wire-wrapped eating utensil for an adult, myself. If you don't stab yourself in the mouth, you're bound to at least get it in the hand.

So it's a bad idea in ways I didn't even imagine! :)

Yeah, that was my reaction, too. Some things just don't need to be embellished. And I can't believe *I* just said that.

Yes! I don't even think they're particularly pretty. Definitely not an item to be *used* at all. Can you imagine trying to clean food off of those?

Sure, soak 'em...which will of course, rust the wire faster so they'll break sooner. Just a really bad idea, I think. Some people don't know when *not* to craft, I guess.

Sometimes I think uber-crafty types get so caught up in the OMGCute! aspects that they fail to realize that people may want to use some of that stuff.

I suppose I could see a use for something like that as a wall decoration, but frankly it reminds me of bronzed baby shoes, which is another thing that has always made me go WTF?

Even worse than the beaded baby socks my mother-in-law kept putting on Amelia.
