I've been noticing a lot of improvements in life this last week or so...stuff that makes me wonder how long I was sliding under this illness before Extreme Pain brought it to my attention.

Fer instance, I'm not bothering to apply undereye concealer or blush when I do my makeup. Maybe it's vain of me to get made up for the office, but I like it. It's just cool when I can *enhance* rather than *cover* features. Also, I'm not experiencing nearly so much muscle fatigue in my torso anymore, and feel lots less limitation with ordinary movements around the house. I'm still not lifting or carrying much, and I'm asking for help with chores that require a lot of bending, but it's shifted over to a consideration of remembering to ask for help in general, rather than post-op restrictions.

The biggest shift I'm seeing, however, is in my mental capacity. None of the family schedule has changed, but I have enough RAM these days to be a little creative with some costuming experiments (WAY in advance!), I'm starting to make holiday lists, taking on some anti-procrastination tasks, and even doing some household rearrangement/decoration thinking. I've barely been treading water the last few months, so this is HUGE.

It's one of those things that only becomes clearer with hindsight, unfortunately. Glad you're on the mend as well. :)
