Seriously miserable with a cold here, though I'm sure I'm being a bit of a princess about it. It's just so rare to come down with a cold when I have the luxury of slacking off, you know? So I am slacking like a mofo today.

Thankfully, the really rotten stage didn't hit until last night's sleepover party was underway. Cupcakes had been frosted earlier in the day, and set-up was accomplished with a couple of hours to spare. After that, it was pretty much "plug and play" with very helpful helpers. Fantastic to sleep in while [livejournal.com profile] diermuid made pancakes for breakfast. I've been letting myself be a zombie ever since. Haven't even bothered getting dressed. It's good. In another hour or two, I'll take a dose of Nyquil and SLEEP. Tomorrow should be a bit better, so off to work I'll go.

I did, however, manage to get two more polar fleece hats made this afternoon, so that's three kids with their "buddy gifts" complete. Still kind of experimenting with different shapes and sizes for the hats, but they're all nice enough to give away, which is great. That's SIX polar fleece hats constructed entirely of fabric from my stash. No more polar fleece, though. We'll have to pick up another yard or two during the week to finish up what the other three kids want.

The color balance is kind of strange. They *should* be bright pink, lime green, and powder blue. It took less than an hour. Straight-line sewing, very little measuring. AWESOME. The ones I made for the boys' buddy gifts today are dark red.

I'd planned to make batch #3 of Christmas cookies this weekend, but baking for other people just didn't seem like a very friendly thing to do. I sure hope the refrigerated sugar cookie dough will last another couple of days.

Hope you feel better after some sleep, babe. We need to arrange another stitch and bitch before the actual, I think. Someplace NOT my house this time--because I need to be sneaky, see?

I'm sure sleep will help a lot, as will the simple passage of time. Not wanting to jinx myself, but this doesn't seem like a complicated kind of cold, you know? I'm just indulging a desire to slump around and whimper. :)

I sometimes think the best way to treat a cold is to indulge it just a little. Here's hoping that it enjoyed your efforts on that level and that you are feeling much better this next week.

Enjoy your cold, luxuriously. And since I cooked and served Christmas dinner with strep throat two years ago and nobody caught it, cooking apparently does kill germs... if you feel motivated ;)

Everybody's Alice is still there, but having a full-time job myself severely limits the amount of time I have to devote to her. It. Erm. I am not the sort of entrepreneur who can work 80-hour weeks to build a home business while also working a day job and running a family/household. :: shrug ::

I'm nursing the idea and planning to build it gradually over the next few years. Website is still up, if dormant. It'd be nice to have a go of it with some capital, you know? We'll see.

Just so long as you know I'm measuring progress in quarters and years, not in weeks and months. :)
