my paradigm is chafing

Please bear with the rambling leade-up to this. I promise I have a point.

So. I went to yoga class with a friend today, and it was marvelously tough. The room was dim, lit only by candles. I didn't cry once...but I did sweat so much that my hands were slipping on the mat. ::le sigh:: Gotta get me some more o'dat. Anyway, during our cool-down (it's a 90-minute session) the instructor put on some lovely music. She also placed a cool, weighted scent thingie on my eyes and rubbed my feet for a minute -- which was really very nice, considering she'd nearly killed me.

Anyway, the song chanted the same line for several minutes: "The ocean refuses no river."
.
.
huh.

In my weakened state, I actually spent some time thinking on that. See, I've struggled with the whole "river flowing around" concept I first heard about in The Tao of Pooh -- I just didn't get it, no way. In my world, the rock moves or gets pummeled. But ocean imagery is much stronger for me than fresh water and rivers and such.

The ocean refuses no river. Well. That changes everything.
'Scuse me while I go shift something.

Sniff...Sniff...(wipes away a tear)

I knew you'd get it some day.

Glad you got to go to yoga & had an enjoyable time. And I join agrnmn in joy at your 'getting it' with the ater thing. Maybe we'll even have you arguing soon (or at least not pulling a pillow over your head) :-)

Easy now one step at a time.

Sure, ya'll get feisty when you're out of arm's reach...

Oh, no. It's too much fun to watch other people argue, then pick them off at a weak moment.

Wait. Was that my outside voice?
