on playing games

(The userpic has nothing to do with anything.)

Last night, I was chatting with [livejournal.com profile] fionnabhar about the games I've been enjoying lately -- Mahjong on FB and Jewels on my phone. The Android Market on my phone describes them as "casual games," and that's probably about right -- they don't take a lot of brain power, I can stop and start on a whim (like when I'm standing in line somewhere), and it's not like I invest a lot in advancing or finishing levels or whatever. That really works for my life right now. :)

As sorting and matching games, they also put emphasis on creating teeny tiny pieces of order out of chaos, or identifying sparkly patterns. Like she said, I like to "match all the things!"

I adore making order out of chaos. Mahjong is excellent for this, but, as I said, I can also recommend Free Cell Solitaire to meet this need. :-)

I like that wholesome, satisfied feeling of using things up.
