Special report from The Hoptown Gazette
(This is where a photo was supposed to upload. FAIL.)
The new buns -- a sibling pair of mini-rexes -- are settling in nicely here at the homestead. JackDog is very curious but is being kept away from the little darlings. We'll have to acclimate them somewhat, but we'll be taking our time and getting better educated on that front first. I've no desire for a "circle of life" kind of moment, dontcha know.
Their fur is such that
diermuid calls them Velveteen Rabbits. :)
So far, they eat, drink, poop, cuddle, and hop around as advertised. We're doing a lot of learning and loving here. Their first vet visit is tomorrow. It's still too early to sex them, and therefore too early to sterilize them, but the teen girls (who are their owners of record) have named them Han and Chewie for personality reasons.

There's also this nifty thing about mini-rexes: They're very low-allergy, due to their fur, which does not have any guard hairs. They're *all* undercoat. So no dander triggers!
