Day Two: Nine things about yourself.

I'm pretty sure I've done this meme before, though it's been a while. I'll try to list some things I haven't listed before.

1. I am a nap whore. Given the opportunity to sleep in, go back to bed, or steal a nap, I will totally TAKE IT.


2. I could very happily watch a lot of football on TV in a weekend, shouting awful things at the screen and drinking beer. I might not want to do it every weekend for very long, but it's sure fun while it lasts. I'm more comfortable with this aspect of myself these days than ever before.


3. I have a very strong preference for baths over showers.


4. I often wonder whether it'll be more dangerous to send Kira Deara into Hot Topic on her own, or with diermuid.


5. I hate folding laundry. Especially whites.


6. Very few things brighten up my week like a coffee date with fionnabhar.


7. I'm still feeling bruised by my layoff, almost a year after it happened. How stupid is that?


8. Only mildly related: I hope I can keep developing Everybody's Alice as a viable venture, because it's lighting up areas of my mind and soul that have been dormant for a long time and I could really stand to have some things go right.


9. I really enjoy cooking and baking more than I ever thought I would.

It's ridiculous how much what goes on at work can affect you... but it does. I know and sympathize.

I really did like that job, though, and felt generally positive about the company. There was still enough GOOD to overcome the ICK, for the most part. Not being very surprised about the layoff, strategically speaking, didn't make it much easier. And I'm surprised by how reluctant I am to have anything to do with the workplace, the colleagues (for the most part), or even that sort of work since then. ::shrug::

Given that the layoff changed your world in some fairly radical and long-term ways (at least from this vantage point), I'm not surprised you're still feeling bruised by it.
