I really like Gibson. You should check out his early stuff. It's accessible, good, short, and holds up incredibly well, even twenty years later. Count Zero, Burning Chrome, and Mona Lisa Overdrive are The Big Three.
Give his later stuff (Virtual Light, Idoru) a miss.
You should be able to find them at a public library or, worst case, a used bookstore for cheeeeeep.
