What kind of work, and am I remembering correctly that you have a college degree in the humanities?

I've been working in Marketing/Communications; my MS is in Public Relations (BA was in Political Science). For the first decade or so of my career, I worked in fundraising -- started off with door-to-door work for an environmental group, then moved on to managing the telemarketing department at a public TV station, and eventually graduated to grantwriting and major gifts before I got burned out. The last ten years or so since I "turned pirate" have been at a marketing agency, where I've been a creative director -- copywriting, mostly, with strategy, analysis, and a bit of product development as well.

Since the layoff in January, I've been freelancing, which sucks. Don't get me wrong -- it's great to find *any* work in my field right now -- but I'm not very well suited to being my own CFO, sales staff, and tech support. But freelancing is less predictable for family finances and that makes it hard to keep up with steady bills, you know? Really need to find something full-time with benefits. :)
