Crippled, but pleased.
Jan. 25th, 2004 08:21 pmThis evening, I finished removing the Black Abomination from the hallway that connects the bedroom with the bathroom and dining room. The method I've developed requires a great deal of boiling water, cloth diapers, a putty knife and lots of patience -- but I seem to have gotten into a groove, so the next bits should go well.
1. Move things out of thecrap craft hallway.
2. Finish scraping off the outer layers of paint and wallpaper in that hallway.
3. Engage help (perhaps
agrnmn or
zylch) to rip up the remaining linoleum in that hallway.
4. Have a festival of steaming on the stairway and in the back hallways.
5. Return to Black Abomination removal.
It's so nice to [stand] here and look at all the lovely hardwood floors we're unveiling. Refinishing them is a task that I think I will be very pleased to pay somebody else to do. But still, it's nice to see them.
Note to those with tender footsies: You may want to be sure to keep your feet covered for walking around here...there are bound to be a few splinters.
Now, I'm off to take some drugs and spend quality time with the heating pad. Oh, and we discovered what's underneath the vinyl flooring in the downstairs bathroom -- more blue tile!

To mix posts, I'm glad I was able to reach you yesterday on your cell phone. Didn't realize that I was turning the laws of probability on their head...
