Back by request of [livejournal.com profile] zylch, who insisted upon emailing me her wildly amusing answer (because I'd removed the post):

In honor of Science Thursday (tm), I present this thought experiment. On a table in front of me are the following objects. Tell me: what am I doing?

colored pencils
glue stick
wallpaper steamer
instant oatment
putty knife
stuffed hamster
straws

OK, you are using the wall paper steamer to make the instant oatmeal into oatmeal paste. You are then using the putty knife to stuff the hamster with oatmeal in the best Izzardian tradition. The straws are useful for making sure that all the little nooks and crevices are well-packed. The glue stick is for sealing the hamster up when you're done. And the
colored pencils are for any exterior touch-ups.

Alternately, you are going to glue the hamster to your head, cover yourself in oatmeal, put the straws up your nose, the colored pencils in your ears, and run around brandishing the steamer and putty knife while screaming "I am the Hamster-headed Pillar of Mercy! Fear my spackle!"

Honestly, I can't figure out how to follow this one.

I believe you are coating the hampster (which would be more entertaining if real) with the glue stick then rolling it in the oatmeal the injecting the straws in it's orifices and using them to mount the critter for bird food. Then I presume you must have an ugly friend over as you must be using the steamer to prepare his/her face for melting down the colored pencils and applying the mixture with the putty knife?

but that's just my thought....
