Yay, weekend. :)
Oct. 20th, 2008 09:20 amMany thanks to
8elements for hosting Friday night's multi-berfday party. I didn't stay long, but it looked to be shaping up to be fabulous, and I very much enjoyed seeing people I don't often get to see. And I got to listen to Fearna!
Saturday, Rowie had her final cross country race of the season -- and she ran! We weren't sure if she would, right up until the last minute, but she and the coach agreed that it would be okay. Her report: Personal best time by about a minute, and "I didn't finish last." It's been a tough first season, but she's already talking about next year's XC, so I guess she ended up being happy with the experience.
Saturday night was the Halloween lock-in at Princess !Kaboom's gym, which I helped to chaperone for the second year. It was really great to play with her and her buddies, and to hang out with the other moms and coaches. Bringing the air mattress maximized the comfort I experience in my 2.5 hours of sleep. At least I got to sleep most of the day on Sunday, and got a good run in as well.
Back to Monday now. Kira's all snoofly and has big dark circles under her eyes this morning. Could be an interesting week, if the plague hits all of us. Mentally moving SLEEP to a higher priority level.
