1. It's time to figure out why your Journal page is this offensive and funky yellow color (with way too much hot pink), while all the other LJ views are the way you like them. ::edit -- check!::

2. Quit being disgusted when people behave the way you expect them to.

3. No matter how tempting it has been since the moment you came across the phrase, don't say this out loud in a work meeting: "If I want your opinion, I'll read your entrails." It wouldn't be constructive at all.

4. Figure out quickly what you're going to make for friends for Winter Avarice -- even if most of them bake and sew better than you do -- or just surrender and write awful haikus for them; give them socks; or offer coupon books of naughty favors redeemable all year long.

5. It's illogical to gripe about the Santa Toss music, then go visit the game again to hear more of it because it's grown on you.

6. The mood icons for Busy and Productive and Working are all the same baffling blue face/spinning mouth thing from yesterday. Avoid them. :: edit -- check!::

All my busy/productive/working ones are sort of sweaty and twitchy. Which is fine, but I really don't associate sweaty and twitchy with "working", so much. :)

Oh, you can still be disgusted with them; just not for failing to defy your expectations. :)

Thanks, you cranky bastard. Tryin' to be merciful here.

Ooops, sorry... keep on doing what you're doing then.

They changed the mood list> (http://www.livejournal.com/moodlist.bml) preview page - now you can compare four of your favorite emotions in different sets. Very cool idea.

I really like Bruce's sets (obviously). Have you seen Juicy's CuteAliens? Or the syndicons (if you can stand ferrets)?

Ooh. Fun. Also, a confirmation that hardly anybody knows what 'quixotic' means. (With a few notable exceptions... MoonMama's set features a little sun hopping about a windmill...)

Marvelous! Thanks for helping me check that one off my list. Now, to stop these pesky pop-up ads (most of which advertise services to block those pesky pop-up ads).

Are they pop-up IE/Netscape windows, or pop-up messages? If the latter, go to this page for a tutorial on how to disable Windows Messenger. It won't stop the pop-up browser windows, but since I turned it off I haven't had any trouble with the places that advertise products to fix a problem that they themselves cause.

Google's toolbar helps with this, I'm told; Also, the browser Mozilla/Netscape has a built-in option for blocking unwanted popups. I'll help more when next I'm over, if you need it..

I'd welcome your help with my pop-ups. Darling, you're so...competent.

"If I want your opinion, I'll read your entrails."

Stealing this for the next time the perennial "sacrificing cute furry animals" debate comes up on HellenicPagan. Guess which side of the question I'm on...

I can't take credit for it. And I can't remember where it saw it, either. But I love it just the same.
