This weekend, I hope to eliminate 30% or more of what's still in the garage. That means if you want dibs on something, you should speak up now or hold your tongue when I trash it or give it away. It's actually all sorted and relatively organized now, which should help with loading and viewing of items. Unless I'm mistaken (and please correct me if I am), anything that belongs to somebody else has already been separated.

This is not fabulous stuff. It's not my intention to foist yucky things on people -- and I sure wouldn't want to donate something I wouldn't feel comfortable letting a friend have. It's just that a lot of it is still quite usable and I'm willing to pass it on for free if it'll fill a need for someobody, is all.

Very little will go out in this Friday's trash, except what I think it just too awful to give to somebody else. NEXT Friday, however, will be a garbage-palooza (I hope). Then the last push will be to bring things to hazardous waste and see what's truly worth bringing to Goodwill or something.

Drop me an email or comment here if you need directions. Significant items include:
- Two lawnmowers. One's an older Lawn Boy with a bag attachment that tends to need oil (which I also have, for the lucky new owner) and a bit of TLC, though I'm assured by [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn that it still works. The other one's a newer Briggs & Stratton. [Need to check with [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn to see if he had something in particular in mind for the B&G.]

- A tall, four-drawer, steel-construction filing cabinet. A bit dented, but very sturdy and useful still.

- Two smallish metal shelving units. These are the kind that tend to fit into closets. One is open shelving; the other has a backer. Not pretty to look at, but still working just fine as such things go. If nobody takes these, I'll probably leave them for the new owners.

- Some motor oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, and brake pads. [Need to check on specs and update this post later.]

- Gardening chemicals. Rose food, weed killer, etc. (Yeah, yeah, I know.) Also, some peat moss and bone meal and a few other things.

- Assorted older camping gear. A couple of two-person tents, I think, plus a sleeping pad and a couple of camping chairs (if I remember correctly what's in those bags). It's not in super shape, but it's still serviceable and I don't think it's mildewed. (knock on wood)

I need to replace my old lawn boy lawn mower; it's on its last legs. If [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn doesn't have a plan for your newer one, I'd like to take a look at it.

Extra points for using "it's" and "its" properly in your sentence, not to mention the semicolon. ::applause::

He usually can't check email or LJ during the day, but I'll get in touch with him tonight and find out. Thanks!

still wanting the ladder, but also still trying to figure out how to transport it from A to B. Also, schedule for the next two weeks is jammed. Is the WH meeting next week supposed to be at yours? If so, that's probably my best bet for getting it.

I'd love the shelving for my classroom--or somebody's classroom. Transport might be an issue if it isn't take apart-able.

That's right -- I'd forgotten about the ladder. It's possible we could strap it to the roof rack on my car for delivery.

With a bit of help, I could load them into the back of the car and bring 'em to your place when I pick you up for our dinner date. :)

Oh, well. I didn't realize it was that kind of date. I'll try to remember to shave my legs, then.

It doesn't have to be, sweetie. We could stay in. :)

In that case, I should definitely shave my legs.

Tents?

If no one else pipes up, we will gladly take the spare tents off your hands.

That might be the best plan. Let me check with EHQ, since that's where I'd be needing the thing, to see when might work. Thanks!

Okay. This would be an afternoon venture, since the morning's activities have me out of the house until about 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Of course, if you come up with an alternate ladder-transport plan, you know how to get in to fetch it!

Nobody has spoken up yet. They'll need some airing out and perhaps re-sealing before camping season, but you're welcome to them. I'll set them aside for you.
