working on finding some normalcy
Mom's pee has returned to its normal, non-TidyBowl-blue color. That is all.
Mom's down for her second nap of the day -- moving much better and generally feeling less of the full-body aches from surgery. Her surgical sites are still quite tender and impressively bruised, but we're a bit less aggressive with the codeine now.
After she wakes up, we might have adventures. She wants to go out to eat at a restaurant. Hard to say if this will happen at all, but Dad and I are prepared to go eat wherever, whenever she's up, if she's still wanting to go. How's THAT for going with the flow? Friggin' arhat, that's me. :)
Also, I washed floors today with a Hoover FloorMate. What a super little machine! And later, I'll get to use the carpet shampoo-er thingie. I swear. She has seven different types of brooms and mops and floor implements, PLUS a few different machines. PLUS a bazillion types of bathroom and general dusting/cleaning things -- tools and chemicals. I might dust later too, just so I can do the little Swiffer dusting dance. :)
Today, I treated myself to a manicure and pedicure. OMG. I am so happy with the cheerful red on my fingers and toes now, but mostly it was very nice to be TOUCHED. This isn't exactly hard duty, physically...and I get along with my folks well enough that it isn't really unpleasant. But I'm feeling really lonely and desperately needed to be touched, if that makes any sense.
I'm putting a pretty high priority on making it to the UU service on Sunday, and perhaps the Saturday night ritual with the CUUPs group. I don't know what to expect, but I bet there will be hugs. I miss hugs a lot.
