Wandering around in friend-of-friend lists, I came across the blog of Sister Mary Martha. (http://asksistermarymartha.blogspot.com/index.html) It's actually pretty ineresting stuff. I'm very glad not to feel conflicted about any disparity between my Catholic upbringing, and my current Unitarian Druid-ishness.

Today happens to be the feastday of St. Joseph. Not a bad fellow, really. I remember seeing the church calendar in Grammy's kitchen, with all the feastdays marked, and all the names. It's a nice memory -- and, being from Rhode Island, I remember the festivals that happen up on Federal Hill (Federial Heights, for locals) and all the spectacular pastries with which St. Joseph's Day would be celebrated. Yum. Lots of people even had the day off work. Those crazy Italians! :)

In the meantime, I hope everyone has a blessed Ostara...or Tuesday...or whatever day you've been given to enjoy.

That reminds me; tomorrow evening is Columbus Park's meeting, and they are CRAZY big on St. Joseph's Day. Do you want some cookies or something? They have a few (thousand)...

Joseph was a good egg, wasn't he? I mean, really, even his wife was sleeping with a god, she was sleeping with somebody. Imagine the pressure to perform after that!
