date with an x-ray
Feb. 28th, 2007 07:54 amPrincess !Kaboom is favoring her wrist this morning -- she bent it "all funny" on the vault last night and avoided putting any weight on it for the last half of practice -- with the added bonus of some slight but nifty discoloration and a bit of swelling. So. We'll be having a date with an x-ray today.
I suspect she'll just be my sidekick all day. She was very diligent about asking for milk with breakfast and doesn't seem to be in much distress about it. You know, other than the whole don't-touch-my-wrist-or-make-me-move-it thing. Gotta call the doctor's office at 8 a.m. and build a plan from there. I'll post lively updates when I know more. Whee!
ETA: Appointment with doctor scheduled for 11:30 a.m., because that's the way they have to do things. It seems child abuse laws and insurance rules are such that the hospital will prefer not to do an x-ray on a kid without the kid having seen their PCP first. (sigh) She's definitely hurting, but very calm about it.
Late Afternoon Update: Oh, the rigamarole! It burns! :) It's looking like nothing is broken right now...just a sprain. There's quite a bit of swelling in the joint, though, so if it's still bugging her a week from now, then we need to do more x-rays. But for now? She's playing outside with her buddies and avoiding cartwheels. Thanks for all the well-wishes. No broken bone merit badge for us just yet. Whew. And then there was a puppy break! Three cheers for Nico the Magnifico -- we had a great time rolling around on the floor with the teeniest, tiniest gentleman puppy. (And three cheers to
akaashben and
fyreseer for the invitation!)
