So, midnight on Friday maybe isn't the best time to launch something new, in terms of market awareness, but technology, energy, and inspiration finally aligned -- so here we go, without any more of that self-doubting hesitation. ::deep breath::

Introducing: Everybody's Alice.

Sometimes, we all need an extra set of hands . . . somebody who can step in and handle those behind-the-scene details so you can focus your time and energy where you’re needed most. Everybody’s Alice offers flexible and friendly support for your life – your home, your family, your business – in just the right amount, to save you time and ease your worries.

  • operating primarily in southern Johnson County, KS, with occasional forays to Lawrence and Kansas City

  • coordinating conveniently with your home or workplace schedule

  • offering efficiencies in time, fuel and your energy

  • blessing yourself, your parents, your employees, or a friend who needs a break

I'm rolling out services slowly, because some tasks require initial outlay of cash I don't really have at the moment, but starting small is better than not starting at all, right? Everybody's Alice is based in southern Johnson County, but will make trips north of the river or out to Lawrence as needed.

Shopping – groceries, gifts (including wrapping)
Errands – prescription pick-up and delivery, post office, dry cleaning
Organization – decluttering and streamlining for office or home
Virtual Assistant – business writing, mailings, client service support
Events – handwritten invitations, creative favors and thank-you notes
Traveling Notary (coming soon!)

All services are offered at a flat $20/hour, billable in 15-minute increments, plus direct expenses for the task. (For example, we’ll pay for your postage and document the cost for your invoice – no mark-up!) Clients will receive electronic or printed invoices twice per month, with payment due within 30 days of receipt.

This is such a great idea. Post office, dry cleaning, library...nnggg. I hate those errands.

I hear you! Each of those outlets will sometimes provide a way to avoid driving or running the errand yourself, but there are very few resources that'll take care of all of them for you at once -- making it a very elegant sort of efficiency, I hope. :)

Love this. Are you live with it?

Yes, we're live. FB and Twitter are active, as is an Everybody's Alice email address through gmail, and a full-feature website should be up within another week or so. I'm phasing into the services and gradually building up capital over the next few months.

Grocery shopping, for instance, requires an initial outlay of cash until the client can be invoiced for time and items. I just don't have that kind of reserve at the moment. But most other stuff? Definitely a go. If there's something you need that isn't listed, please feel free to suggest it! :)

Great idea! I can think of several times in the last few weeks we could've used you.

will you handle extra kids? I'm always mildly concerned that something will happen and I'll need a hand with Birdy in an odd/"well crap I'm off by 20 minutes" sort of way... if willing, we should possibly talk... and ooooooh someone to go grocery shopping next time I can't walk??!?!? I like. I like a lot... I'd even prepay if necessary, just so I don't have to walk through the freakin' grocery store!

Grocery shopping, yes. Extra kids, I'd mostly have to say no as a business decision -- lots of extra insurance required, etc. Being in Gardner, it'd also be difficult for me to respond within that 20-minute window. And I don't think Birdy has really interacted with me since I held her when she was an infant!

I do, however, very much understand that sort of parenting crunch...and I have a teenager who's eager to earn money toward her first car. :)
