Loadmaster is gonna kick my ass.

My tactical packing skills are pretty weak right now. I thought I was doing well to make a list yesterday, so I wouldn't forget stuff for my PT, etc. And [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn did all the laundry in the world, so 'most everything is clean. But no.

See, I have to cover four relatively snazzy-dressing conference days, two traveling days and (so far) two schmoozy dinners. Plus anything casual I want to have on hand for getting time on the town myself. In Atlanta. My wardrobe just ain't that deep, y'all. (sigh) Recruiting a sugar daddy to take me shopping and dress me up all pretty 'n shit doesn't seem like such a bad bargain today.

And trying to get ahead of the curve by doing some packing last night just didn't work quite so efficiently as I'd thought, since I neglected to plan for what I'd wear today and tomorrow before getting on the fecking plane. Amateur stuff, that is.

If I can't get my head out of my ass, I will not only end up overpacking...I will also get to Atlanta and discover I have forgotten to bring underwear.

but the good news is...

They have Walmarts in Atlanta too. So, if you forget underwear, they can get you covered (as it were). Forgetting something else (like your conference notes) could be a bigger problem.

Yeah, I just really hate discovering that I have a lot of what I don't need, and not enough of what I do. (shrug) Oh, well.

Hey, if you happen to find yourself a sugar daddy to dress you up pretty and all that, can I have him when you're done with him? It's totally a need in my world too.

I am definitely a minimalist when it comes to packing. Of course, most of the trips I make these days aren't for business, so that tends to make things a whole lot easier.

I used to be a terrible pre-traveller. I would get myself all worked up into a frenzy of anxiety and angst about everything. I had to have every minute detail planned out well in advance and scheduled and packed, etc.

I'm not sure what the turning point was - I think it may have been the realization that I was turning into my father with respect to travel (LOL!) - but I am much more laid back about it all now. If I forget something, nine times out of ten I can replace it or will have someone at the other end who can lend me what I need.

A lot of rambling, I know, but my best advice is just B R E A T H E. :-)

And enjoy Atlanta! It's a great city (I've spent quite a bit of time there over the last few years... LOL!).

Safe journeys!

Thanks -- I'll try to remember the whole breathing thing. I generally enjoy travelling. It's just this particular conference that has me worked up. I'm a textbook introvert, and the next several days will require a lot of charm and cleverness from me. (sigh)

I have already packed my yoga mat and comfortable jammies. :)
