I am definitely a minimalist when it comes to packing. Of course, most of the trips I make these days aren't for business, so that tends to make things a whole lot easier.
I used to be a terrible pre-traveller. I would get myself all worked up into a frenzy of anxiety and angst about everything. I had to have every minute detail planned out well in advance and scheduled and packed, etc.
I'm not sure what the turning point was - I think it may have been the realization that I was turning into my father with respect to travel (LOL!) - but I am much more laid back about it all now. If I forget something, nine times out of ten I can replace it or will have someone at the other end who can lend me what I need.
A lot of rambling, I know, but my best advice is just B R E A T H E. :-)
And enjoy Atlanta! It's a great city (I've spent quite a bit of time there over the last few years... LOL!).
