Had a pretty nice weekend with the fambly. Santa brought me some lovely rubber duckie jammies, with bubbles and everything, and we all know that jammies make everything better in my world. They're also an excellent replacement for the set that's on loan for this year's UNIPEP season.
And lo, with the gift of a Home Depot card, we were able to acquire new lights for the entryway and hallway (which
agrnmn installed last night). The hallway is now officially "mostly painted." Really, there's just bit of touch-up left and we'll be ready to polyurethane the lot. Well, then the ceiling. But I'm not talking about that yet. We will need a lot of help with that one, since it's literally over my head.
All told, I only received one inexplicable gift: a faux rabbit fur reversible vest. Yup, it's reversible...and very, very white. The person who gave it to me is a very thoughtful gift selector-type -- for example, she once admired how good I look in red, and a red sweater was given for Xmas that year. But the bunny vest? I cannot for the life of me figure out why it was selected. She is not a party to any of the bunny-based commentary in my life at all. She was so happy, watching me open the gift, and thrilled to point out its reversibility and vigorous washableness. It's a really nice piece, though it sure isn't anything I would've picked out for myself. This was not a cheap gift.
But now I'm baffled. Do I exchange it for something I'm more likey to wear on a regular basis? I suspect this is a gift that will be asked after, if you know what I mean. Or do I wear it in mind-bending ways? Could be fun.
