Happy Birthday, Fiona!

Wishing a happy 9th birthday to my little Fiona Pie, who isn't so very little anymore! She left for school today saying she felt like a princess, so I figure that's a good start. Later tonight, there's a bowling party and overnight with buddies at agrnmn and stregalunae's place -- hope it's grand fun for everybody!

(In other news, Rowie turns 16 next week. Jeepers.)

mostly content Friday (rather than no-content)

Despite the continuing background noise of worry over work and money, life is pretty kind to me, and I feel content about many things.

I'm blessed by a small but treasured circle of friendships that sustain, challenge, and enrich me. I'm fortunate that my girls growing up into brilliant and loving (and marvelously quirky) individuals. And I'm astonished by the second chance I've been granted build a future with a new husband -- as well as the gift of suddenly even more family. :)

There were some days not so very long ago that these joys would have seemed impossible, and there are still some days that I grieve for what's fallen away since then. But no way could I have envisioned this particular point on my path and the gratitude I feel right now.

Maybe it's spring fever, or hormones, or a case of the Fridays? Hey...I'll take it with a smile. Hope the world is treating you all well, too!
