Here I am, back on the hamster wheel at the office again. Hardly any weeping or lamentations so far, so fingers crossed.

A million thanks to the Dingo Survival Team. It was a great relief to know that the dog would be safe and cared for while we were gone. Her lobotomy scar hardly shows at all.

The rest and time with family really did me good. I hardly used the computer at all for the whole time. I've read about, but didn't fully appreciate, the benefits of offline brain time. Wow.

Having said that, please understand that I probably won't do much online backtracking...it just seems like a misuse of time and energy right now. If there's something you need me to know, then I trust that you'll communicate with me in a more direct and "real time" manner.

We've got a bunch of photos and other vacation snippets to share, but I may leave the bulk of that work to [livejournal.com profile] agrnmn, who tells stories much better than I do.

Since I'm not about to go through the quiz to map out my humor, I thought I'd offer this observation:

My powers of sarcasm seem to be solar-powered. During the daytime, I'm fully charged for as much sarcasm as anyone could ever ask of me. After a full day of light and little opportunity to exercise sarcasm, I've even got some power to burn. But just before sunrise? Very different. No sarcasm. At. All.
