Back to Business
Apr. 16th, 2005 11:11 amAfter two weeks of mostly not being a functional household citizen, I need to get back to the habits that keep me sane.
Self: Woke up with a smashing migraine this morning, no doubt brought on by not really doing a damn thing that helps to prevent the nasty things. Took the superdrugs and managed to get out of bed by 10 a.m. (all glory and praise to Cartoon Network). Motivated by the memory of what I felt like to be healthy (like, as recently as February and much of March), here's today's list for myself:
get dressed
do yoga
eat breakfast
avoid sugar So far, so good. Can you hear my sweet tooth screaming?
just keep moving in reverse, maybe, but moving
Wife and Mother: I've been remarkably absent lately, even when I've actually been in the house. There is a serious shortage of laundry, so the dining room is now set up as a Folding Zone. Nothing says love like plenty of clean socks and underwear. Must remember that it's not going to do any good to obsess...concentrate instead on doing a few meaningful things to get back on track.
all humans must bathe Not completely successful here, but I've had enough. Eldest took a shower. Got two little ones into the tub and all wet before Princess Sticky pooped in the tub. Broken. Have no clue when I will be able to shower, however.
rotate laundry four times today (sort, wash, dry, fold, put away)
change sheets on beds Well begun, anyway. All beds stripped, one bed remade so far.
restore peace and order in our bedroom
SCRUB BATHTUB
Druid: The candles on my altar are actually gathering dust, that's how pathetic my devotional practice has been lately. It's so easy to get lost in mundane matters and forget that this stuff is important, too.
light a candle (even if only for the act of recreating a sanctuary in the bedroom)
beging memorizing poem for Aengus mac Og
be present at the ritualist dedication this afternoon
