Mar. 26th, 2005 09:29 amLast night, with the gracious assistance of the Topless Painting Squad,
triadruid, and
teross50, we made some serious progress in the hallways. Pictures will follow a bit later today, but here's what was accomplished:
~ sealing coat of polyurethane on the dark trim in the dining room
~ touch-up of hallway wall paint
~ two coats of copper paint on the top 6" of hallway, entry and stairway walls
~ deglaze and first coat of base color on the arch from front door to living room
Kudos to
agrnmn for getting the entry flooring done -- it was a great motivator -- and to
zylch for her capable supervision of the project. The difference is really dramatic already. Over the next few days, we aim to:
~ finish deglazing and applying first coat of base color to remainder of trim
~ deglaze and apply first coat of color to doors
~ apply crackle medium and then topcoat to top 6" of hallway, entry and stairway walls
It's hard to say how much I can manage while
agrnmn is at work today. We may get so far as to apply second or top coats to most of these during the week, but just getting first coats on will be significant. We've also got to finish picking out (and pricing) new lights for the entry, hallway and top of stairway; pull up the carpet on the stairs (by god); and come to a decision about the ceilings.
This week's progress will be pretty much it for me until mid-April, because I'll be doing some traveling for work. Look for an all-call for help with the kids...
