I'd hate to be [livejournal.com profile] chaosdruid right now. I ache this morning, so I can't imagine the pain she must be in...with no end in sight until the end of the week at least. Warm and comforting thoughts to you, dear. Let me know if you need a lift to EHQ for a compassionate session in the hot tub.

Mysteriously, I'm covered in bruises this morning. Tiny, pinprick bruises are surfacing everywhere. I hope LT burns that "goat" soon, and I'd better schedule a bit of a purification for myself too. Ouch, ouch, hurtie body.

My hands are very swollen and bruised, such that my super-elasticized bracelet is leaving a mark on my wrist. Couldn't even get my wedding ring onto my pinky finger. (Note to self: drink more water.) I had a marvelous time drumming, however -- it was well worth the price. Just a slave to the rhythm, that's me. :)

It was a relatively pleasant and busy weekend. Excellent sleep was had; dinner was ready in the crockpot when we got home last night; laundry is pretty well back in its rhythm and the kitchen was clean to start the day today. Yesterday was a rare Sunday for which I did ritual that didn't turn into a day of torture. I <3 my team -- and my husband -- who made everything so much easier than it could have been. We had a couple of things that went differently than we planned, or could have been done better, but (hopefully) no Egregious Errors.

The ritual itself (the outline of which I need to get LT to submit for us) went much better than I'd feared it would. And, though I'm unhappy that [livejournal.com profile] zylch felt too sick to participate, her absence wasn't the cause of my worry. We were Playing Tricks and Combining Styles and generally Doing Dangerous Shit that we had No Business Doing (ritually speaking)...all in one ritual, which had me nauseous up until I started drumming at 3 p.m. After that, I couldn't spare energy for anything other than Energy.

The bit with the llama goat on rollerskates worked marvelously.

You succeeded marvelously.

Thank you, and thanks be to all the little gods. I was fabulously unsuccessful in getting advice from my local Wiccan Army Experts, so we settled for keeping it simple and doing our best. Every once in a while, that has to take the place of actual competence, you know? On my own, I only had enough competence to be aware of the fuck-up potential...

You did very well, I thought. I percieved only two errors in the ritual form, one of which you explained to me did not actually happen as I perceived it, and the other of which I understand was a stylistic decision which served the intent of the ritual, and therefore not really an error.

I'm pretty certain that if you are suffering as a result of ritual fuck-up, it had nothing to do with whether or not the forms of traditional wicca were followed.

Because the above is accurate, but sort of technical, I think it's also worthwhile to say that I enjoyed the ritual in general and feel like I am better off for having been there.

Also, I'm sorry that we were unavailable yesterday. Due to having been up until stupid-thirty the night before, we all slept in until almost three.

I heard about that.

Don't sweat it. I pretty rapidly proceeded from Plan B through various steps to Plan Q. Luckily, I'm the sort of Cordian Druid who knows what her Plan Q will be even when she's testing Plan B.

Seems the Powers That Be were deciding many things for us over the weekend.

I'm hanging in there

I'm not quite as bad as I was yesterday. The bad part for me hits as the storm front moves through and the pressure changes. The joints swell up and get very painful in reaction. I often get advance knowledge of weather this way.
For the rest of the lovely weather this week, if I can manage to stay inside and out of the damp cold (insert snickering here for those that know my schedule), my joints should *mostly* cooperate.
Thanks for thinking of me though!

I say this without checking with my other thirds

But I'm certain that if it comes down to an ice storm, the E3HQ house is clean enough to support people in sleeping bags, couches, and giant tubs should they manage to be stuck here/flee here from worse weather elsewhere.

Seconded. We even have a fireplace, and dry wood in the garage.

You will have to bring your own bedding, though, probably.

Thirded as well.

I'm thinking that stocking up with stuff for beef stew sounds lovely.
