I'm just reeling this morning with the sequence of bad news over the weekend. First I hear about the baby "ripped untimely" from her mother's womb. Then, the little boy who fell through the ice (with whom I'm unexpectedly connected by only a degree or two). And this morning I come in to the office and find out that a co-worker's 4-year-old son died yesterday.

I honestly cannot find the words for how all this random harm makes me feel. It's stupid -- I wouldn't know any of these children if I saw them on the street...but I rage against childhoods damaged and grieve for loved ones in pain.

There isn't enough prayer in me for this.
