Offered: one very heavy sewing machine and table

This green metal Kenmore sewing machine used to be my grandmother's, though I never once saw her sew with it. The darn thing still works. Currently, it's separated from the table it used to be attached to and it probably needs a tune-up (maybe even a belt), but it's still ticking. I've even still got the owner's manual!

agrnmn wanted me to wait until we found the screws that attach the machine to the table again, but I've given up hope of finding the screws (they seemed pretty ordinary when we removed the machine to make the table light enough for general use). ::waves at husband::

If you want it, let me know. We can bring it to some mutually agreeable location or you can come to the house and pick it up. I have no idea what a price would be -- frankly, I'll be happy to have it gone -- but if you feel like you want an exchange, just name your perceived value/offered favor.

Value of favors other than cash may have some bearing on my decision, because I'm a hoor, but I aim to have it out of my possession within a week regardless.

It works? Because we totally need a sewing machine, but I think we have a broken one already.

If it's in reasonably good condition, I'd like to have it. (Pending the approval of my other two thirds, of course, to whom I was just stating the other day that We Have Too Much Stuff In This House.)

It would be more accurate to say that it sort of works. I'm not certain the belt fits quite right on the turning mechanism, and it tends to smell like smoke when sewing something heavy like wool.

It is, however, a machine that was built to last a damn long time. If you feel up to the tuning of it -- or can convince somebody to tune it up for you -- then it could be a real useful addition to your power tool lineup.

You are still welcome to borrow the more modern machine. I'd meant to send it with zylch last night, but she left verrah quickly after you called...hope you had a compatible evening together.

I've got five old sewing machines... and lj-cleavage is pretty standard... there are a few people at Sprint who might even recognize you in a bodice and mask. ;-)
