A peaceful moment
Nov. 26th, 2004 02:02 pmThis is me, working hard at slackin' a little bit on a day off work. (Yeah, I see the irony.) The intrepid
agrnmn just took the Princesses Boredom and !Kaboom to see The Incredibles, along with
breathofgold and
iron_clad While I would have enjoyed going, If it's as good as everyone says it is, then nobody will mind seeing it a second time when I get the chance to go.
This time to myself (Princess Sticky and
zylch are both napping) has been a blessing. I've been surprisingly impatient with my family lately and not rolling with the chaos very well. I crave time to myself, time to sleep, time to work on the house. I feel my patience is bottoming out and they're all suffering with me. As
fionnabhar said it: The buggers keep needing things. After how vicious I was last night, I'm very glad that
agrnmn decided to come home from work this morning...
Anyway, it seems that
zylch and Princess Sticky managed to fix the stove. We put the back on again in preparation for the repair visit on Monday (during which we'd pretend that we hadn't actually removed it) and now the darn thing seems to be working. Whaddya know. At least we got some solid research done on the stove we'd like to purchase when the time comes -- soon, I'm sure -- and know that the warranty will indeed cover work on the old stove.
The afternoon promises to get better. After a bit of tidying in the bedroom and folding laundry, I may experiment with some paint/glazing techniques so that we can maybe finish painting the dining room this evening. Princess Boredom will be going to spend the night with La Greca and the little ones should be in bed by 8 p.m., which leaves us quite a bit of time to ourselves. We've rented a stupid number of DVDs, even.
