gravitationally challenged
Last night in TKD class, there were a lot of jumping drills. ::sigh:: I do pretty well with the part where one needs to pull one's knees up to one's chest or land lightly on the toes -- that's no problem -- but I have hella trouble with actually getting any air.
Let's set aside the fact that I'm nearly 42 years old and overweight. I've *never* been able to get air, even back in high school when coaches dedicated years of effort to developing my "explosivity," as the Belgian track coach put it. I'd rather do pushups or situps until I reach muscle failure, every single night...that's how much these jumping drills suck for me.
"It's because you're more of an Earthbender," offered Diermuid. And he's so very fucking right.
