change of plans

Last night's vigil at Shifty McGee's church wasn't so very bad. It's easy to be attentive with all the chanting and such. Lots of folks there, including a baby girl (just starting to walk) who decided I was Very Interesting. We kept each other occupied for the three-hour service. And then there was the feast afterward. I didn't partake, because I hadn't really been fasting, but it was hilarious to watch all those folks break their long fast. There was a food line with ham and sausage plus some other things, and people supplemented that with little baskets of yummies they'd brought, which were FULL of things they hadn't gotten to eat during Lent -- booze, bacon, chocolate milk. That kind of thing. :)

I'm getting a break today because diermuid is taking him to the Sunday service and egg hunt/potluck this afternoon. I get to stay home and putter around in the garden and garage. Plus, I'll start cooking a Sunday meal. I *love* cooking Sunday dinners. Who would have thought? And the girls come home this evening instead of tomorrow, so that'll be sweet too.

Gonna log off now and go take care of some things, but I leave you with this sneaky photo taken out the kitchen window when I saw that B.Ryce had gone out to read and JacklyWackly decided to keep him company. ADORABLE.
