This weekend, I think, will be Mostly About Dust. Eradication of dust, that is. It's a chore I frequently forget about. We'll break out the gigantic and lovely featherduster to get cobwebs out of corners, clear off the ceiling fans, and recruit the Dusting Team. (The littler princesses are my Dusting Team. They use a bit more dusting product than I'd prefer, but they're very enthusiastic about polishing horizontal surfaces in their reach. And many other random things that sure aren't dusty when they're finished.) Also, the kitchen floor. UGH.

Isn't that exciting? :)

Real estate agent is coming Saturday morning to talk numbers and options and getting the house on the market. Doing much of that "designed to sell" stuff is really going to be beyond us; and I'm trying not to freak out at the notion of having the house ready to show all the time. Lots of work...and LOTS of stress for the kids, which we'd like to avoid.

Many thanks to [livejournal.com profile] capriciouslass for the St. Joseph statue, which is 999% more mighty than I'd expected. See, I was thinking of a St. Joseph figurine. But no. This St. Joseph is HUGE. Like, three feet tall. And heavy enough that [livejournal.com profile] zylch had to lift smart to get him out of the trunk. Wow. I was telling my mother about it and she was like, well, you'd better get to burying that, then. He's got a nice spot in the garden for the moment; it's going to take a post-hole digger to bury him. Heavens...this is the sort of hole one might ordinarily call to check on power lines for! ::rolling up sleeves::

In other news, I purchased The Transformers movie last night, because it is full of AWESOME. Yes, I am hopeless. :)

I recall dusting a stack of Swiffers a few years back, after someone had to have each new Swiffer as it came out. I still don't think she got the irony of the action at the time.

Ah. Yeah.

I *do* like to splurge sometimes on the "dusting wipes," because they make it easier to avoid the issue of kids spraying too much Pledge (or whatever) onto a surface, or arguing over who gets to spray, or whether somebody gets sprayed in the face. Which is NO FUN.

It's not really more environmentally friendly or financially wise, but it sure means I get more help. :)

Plus, bathing the featherduster and then using a blow-dryer on it is sooper funny.
