I'd barely begun to recover from that, when I sawduriyah's post and linky-link to some marvelous person's story about their day with the dog: I Has Sweet Potato. (The writer, littera_abactor, has already been metaquoted, so I don't think it's terrible to direct you there.)
Tears. Rolling down my face. I may be hemorraging with suppressed laughter. For the love of all that is holy, keep me away from pet stores and adoption shelters.
EDIT: Also,jackbabalon23 has posted an imaginary set, which he's calling his "Sunday Cocktail Hour." Must. Boogie. Or. Die.

That's it, folks. Completely incapable of generating any original thought today whatsoever. I may be sitting at my desk for the next 90 minutes, but my left brain has left the building. :)
FURTHERMORE: Thanks to the scattering of my wits, I have discovered thatlittera_abactor is an alternate LJ for a thrilling person called thefourthvine. I am in serious brain lust...a brain lust that has shattered all previous brain lust covenants, spoken and unspoken. Sorry, jackbablon23. I'll dance to your mix, but my groove is goin' home with thefourthvine. I'm sure you understand.
If I can't manage to write like this person -- which I'd give my left nut for, had I one to give -- then I will have to settle for reading. It strikes me as not at all odd that I enjoy reading stuff that people write about slash, though I have not ever read the actual slash. Hell, I seldom know the source material they're talking about. Do I care? No suh. (shrug)
