saffronhareSort of. This post opens the bidding on sponsorship of my feet for the Breast Cancer 3-Day. I don't know if any of you have a strong preference for the left foot over the right foot, or vice versa, but they're separate...er, lots. Here's how I think it'll work at first:
Bidding on left food and right foot: $10 starting bid for each.
Submit your bids in comments, which I'll update up here about once an hour. Alternately, you could give me a call at work if you've got the number, or send me an email (I'll check work and personal email) with my LJ redirect address. Bidding will close at about noon on Sunday, or when all the other bidders cry "uncle!" and a winner is clear. I'll get in touch with the winning bidder for waves of gratitude and information aboutponying up donating. Anonymous donors should please contact me directly, as a supplement to posting anonymously.
We'll see how it goes. No doubt, there will be refinements in the method as we progress to the higher-ticket items on my person. But we're gonna go for it anyway. :)
Feel free to recruit donors from outside LJ-land and far away from the KC area, as long as you figure they'll be able to reach an agreeable compromise on the benefits of sponsorship. Use your own judgement; please don't squick anybody out. It will mostly be up to you guys to moderate threats or bribes among the bidders if somebody wants to jockey for unfair advantage. If you are behaving appropriately as a Friend to Breasts Everywhere, then it's all good.
No actual goods or services will be exchanged for this donation, so it's tax deductible to the full extent of the law. Lay on!
