Fair Price Paid
Apr. 10th, 2006 11:00 amWhat a splendid weekend! Helped a neighbor with dividing some bulbs and digging up a few perennials she wanted to get rid of, and got a ton of new plants for my yard out of the bargian. My hands and arms and hamstrings are a little bit sore, and I've got a little of what might be thistle-rash on my wrist (I'm choosing to believe it isn't anythign worse, but we'll have to wait and see), so I think I made out pretty well.
The tally: 47 surprise lily bulbs dug up and replanted; four big clumps of blue globe thistle dug up and replanted -- thanks to
agrnmn for digging the holes at home in good humor when I brought home three loads of plants; and thanks to
breathofgold for helping to cover up the last dozen bulbs or so when I began to despair of ever finishing.
Princess !Kaboom picked her body weight in dandelions, and Princess Sticky made dozens of "dirt cookies." Not a bad showing. I was so very happy, it was almost a shame to get the dirt out from under my nails to go to church yesterday. Really, I was *already* at church, kneeling in the dirt and singing to my flowers. :)
Also, abouy 4.5 miles logged on a training walk yesterday. Only 3 miles to walk today, and 3 more tomorrow, then a rest day.
Today, my shoulderblades keep trying to crawl up to my ears. Not sure what that's about, but I'm working with it. I think today's walk will do me a lot of good.
