in her element now

Just got a call from Nonny & Poppy: PB, after standing in line for a very long time, got through check-in very quickly (because she had all her papers in order) and had plenty of help getting the contents of their van up to her room (including the box she thought she'd forgotten at their house). She was horrified at the notion that they might go park after unloading and COME BACK TO VISIT, so they gave her hugs and kisses and are heading home for a nap now. She's got lots of "week of welcome" activities for options if she's lonely but a good many plans of her own otherwise, such as a job interview (!) tomorrow and getting her books. They do not expect to hear from her soon, but extracted a promise that she'd check in once a week. As soon as she tells me her mailbox number, I can send a bit of a care package. Classes start on Monday, 8/27. ::exhale::
