It's going to be one of those days.

A few things have happened this morning that really set the tone for me. First, as I was walking into my office this morning, a pair of panties fell out the leg of my jeans. (They were clean, thank goodness, hapless hitchhikers from the load of laundry I pulled these jeans from today. But still. Tripping over my own panties is a bit of a shock, particularly since I'm not on the look-out for those sorts of things in the office.)

Second, I received an email from my Favorite Babysitter in the World, _francophile, saying that yes, she'd be delighted to watch the girls so agrnmn and I can both go to featherynscale's birthday party -- instead of having to draw straws like we have in years past. While I know this will please the Birthday Girl, I'd secretly been hoping to hide at home and avoid the Get Bent dress-up issue...particularly after the Vicars & Tarts Costume Miscalculation. But no. We'll both be there. ::eek::

I suppose if my day is to be filled with minor disasters, it's a blessing that they're at least mild-mannered and sort of funny.

Update: And now, there is a high-grade jelly doughnut in my hand, complements of the Boss Who Can Live. Most of the jelly is even making it to my mouth, so everything will be much better very soon.

I promise I'm going to be productive At Any Moment Now.
